Joint Statement from RTTW and the National Memorial ArboretumLifting of COVID RestrictionsRide to the Wall (RTTW) and the National Memorial Arboretum have been working together on plans to ensure that this unique annual Service of Remembrance, in memory of those who can no longer ride by our side, can be delivered safely while enabling as many people as possible to attend. We are very pleased to announce that we will be able to welcome everyone who wishes to remember the fallen onsite at the Arboretum at this year’s event. The committee, trustees of RTTW and the Arboretum events team and many others have been developing plans to ensure that everyone can have a safe and comfortable experience during RTTW 2021. Additional measures to ensure this includes extra toilets and catering facilities, plus the usual Park and Ride service for those travelling by car. It would be of enormous help, to all Wallers, if you could please register your attendance in advance and participate in one of the organised rides. By registering in advance of the event we will be able to make sure we have enough facilities to accommodate everyone and by participating in one of the organised rides we can better ensure that everyone gets onto site safely and in time for the service. Sadly, we also know that we may have to revise our plans if Government restrictions are re-imposed in advance of the event, so by pre-registering you’ll also be helping to ensure that we can share all of the relevant pre-joining instructions with you and communicate with you at short notice if required. The safety of all attendees is our primary concern. However, at this time we feel confident that, with the support of the Waller community, we will be able to host this event safely and sensibly and can deliver it without restricting capacity. We know that some people may be unable to join us this year for many different reasons and therefore we will be live streaming the service on Facebook and YouTube for people to watch from home.We look forward to welcoming you all to the Arboretum on Saturday 2 October for RTTW 2021.Registering for RTTW will help ensure that the event runs safely and everyone can comfortably remember the fallen. If you haven’t registered already and would like to join us for RTTW 2021, please visit https://www.rttw.org/In the very unlikely event of restricted numbers being re-introduced we have put the following process in place.PHASE 1 – UP TO 4000 – GREEN or PURPLE WRISTBANDSPHASE 2 – 4000 – 6000 – RED WRISTBANDSPHASE 3 – 6000 + – YELLOW WRISTBANDS
