DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for a fun filled weekend at the Northampton Town Festival Saturday 2nd July and Sunday 3rd July. Your support to display bikes at the show from our chapter will be greatly appreciated. \n\n\n\nI will be leading the ride Saturday 2nd July. Kevin Deakin has invited us for breakfast at his works fun day and to start the ride from there. \n\n\n\nFor those wanting to meet for breakfast\, please meet at Waitrose NDC\, Magna Park\, Atkins Way\, Milton Keynes\, MK17 8FF @ 09:00 for bacon butties and tea / coffee provided by Kev and his team. (I will need to know approx. numbers attending breakfast for catering) \n\n\n\nWe will leave Waitrose Milton Keynes at 10:00 and head to McDonalds Towcester to pick up anyone wanting to attend the Northampton show but not wanting breakfast. I aim to be at McDonalds for 10:30 so please be ready for an immediate departure\, we will then take the short ride into Northampton. \n\n\n\nWe have space allocated at the show to display our bikes to the public. Entry to the show is free for people attending with the ride\, once there you are free to wander and enjoy events\, stalls food and live music.  \n\n\n\nMikey will lead the one-way ride on Sunday and will leave McDonalds Towcester at 10.30. DESCRIPTION:When the price was increased at the Rugby Club we needed to find a new location. At the time I was keen to reduce our outgoings as much as possible which we have managed mainly through Scott finding a new web supplier at a greatly reduced cost.The Mill at the time suited our situation but there were always going to be compromises\, the main one being the parking. Since Covid the Mills customer base has increased alarmingly meaning that even ar- riving at 1845 on club night is difficult to find a parking space\, and with the good weather this will only increase. Also not a massive concern but I am aware that a couple of members have fallen on the stairs when going down to the bar sober. Since attending they have also increased the price of the top room for events.In light of this future club nights will be held at;THE WALNUT TREE21 Station Rd\, Blisworth\, Northampton NN7 3DSThere is a charge for using the room but less than the Rugby club was and there is adequate parking. The bar is next door to our room but on the same level.

SUMMARY:Founders Day Ride
DESCRIPTION:Departing from Towcester McDonalds at 10:30am on Sunday 24th July. Badger leading. Mikey and Colin tailing.\n\n\n\nSynonymous with ‘The Taverners\,’ is Founders Day\, it has become one of the major UK events in the ‘old bike’ calendar. From humble beginnings almost fifty years ago with just a hundred or so visitors and half a dozen people selling surplus bike bits out of their car boot or laid out on the obligatory ‘paste table’ the event has grown in to a vast slick and professional operation. \n\n\n\nOriginally the event took place on the area to the right of the driveway with a small ‘arena’ to the back of the hall\, nowadays there is a large arena to the front of the hall along with an autojumble nearing 300 pitches in number and taking up the whole area to the front of the hall. \n\n\n\nIn recent years the attendance levels have grown to around the 4000 mark or more if the weather cooperates\, even with the challenges the weather threw at us in 2012 around 3000 visitors made the pilgrimage. Which other event allows you to see everything from an FS1E to Brough going around the arena! It’s also worth having a wander round the bike park as there are many very nice bikes actually ridden to this event. \n\n\n\nThis year’s attraction is “The Wall of Death” which is free to watch and is included in your event entry fee of £10.00 \n\n\n\nAdmission: £10 per person \n\n\n\nEntry tickets to the event on Sunday 24th July are available on the gate only\, taking cash or card payments please.
