DESCRIPTION:Our monthly club night at the Towcester brewery. Hopefully\, the biker down course that Mike has been trying to arrange for February club night will now go ahead. I have tried to give a start time of around 7.30 so we can tie up the committee meeting first.I would hope that we can use our normal meeting room so everyone is involved but if we want to keep it separate perhaps we could hold it upstairs in the party room then people can choose.It has come round a bit suddenly as it was only re-arranged a week ago so I hope it works out. So far 17 people have indicated they are coming and I expect a few more.Scott\, could you still add it to the web site\, sorry\, I know it’s late in the day. Can’t say I know the format or length of the course as so far I have only had a brief conversation with the instructor who has been working nights.I’m sure it will work out somehow.

DESCRIPTION:John Lourie tell us:“Having ridden lots of different (mainly very old) motorcycles since 1959\, and having lots of relatives in the US and Canada\, I felt the time had come in 1996 to ‘have a go’ on a Harley-Davidson in its home country (having previously only ridden one down the A5 from Bletchley to Hockcliffe). \n\n\n\nThe taunt from a friend living in N. Carolina that I was nothing more than a middle-aged ‘last-chance trendy’ sealed the decision\, and a huge third-hand Harley with an engine bigger than a small car – and weighing almost as much – was procured from the retired Chief of Police in a town in Vermont.There followed 20 years of perambulations around North America\, taking in the ‘Four Corners’: Nova Scotia in NE Canada\, Key West on the southernmost tip of Florida\, Southern California\, and Alaska\, mostly with my long-suffering late wife Lucinda on the back.  One trip was from New York to Los Angeles\, taking in the whole length of (as much as remains of) the iconic Route 66\, and I will try to give a flavour of this experience in this talk. (I finally parted with the great beast 3 or 4 years ago\, my explanation being that in my mid-70s I had got a bit light for the bike). \n\n\n\nThis event will take place at the Milton Keynes Synagogue.

The ride will be to the Mental Monkey Café\, Kettering\, leaving McDonalds (A43) at 10.30 \n\n\n\nThis is a short ride of only 50 odd minutes\, to a biker friendly café for a coffee and what ever else takes your fancy. Performing alongside Ant & Dec\, Jonny won a standing ovation from the theatre audience\, a unanimous vote of approval from the judges and was seen by 11 million TV viewers. Jonny was broadcast numerous times throughout the series and made it all the way to the Live Semi-Finals. His performances on the show have been viewed more than 30 million times on YouTube. Jonny has also appeared on the BBC Radio 2 Arts Show\, featured as a guest-presenter on Absolute Radio and written three hit Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows.  \n\n\n\nOpening the night will be Michael Fabbri who is an English stand-up comedian based in Brighton. In 2003 he reached the final of So You Think You’re Funny. He has worked as a writer for Radio and TV and has done several solo shows at the Edinburgh fringe festival and worked as a support act for Micky Flanagan\, Lucy Porter\, and Stephen K Amos. He has an affable and electric style of comedy\, with material that ranges from the cerebral to the smutty. \n\n\n\nSupport act is the entertaining Alex Farrow who last came to the Mill in 2019. \n\n\n\nThe evening will be compered by the Mill’s resident MC\, Pete Teckman. \n\n\n\nOver 18s only. The ride will be leaving McDonalds on A43 Towcester at 10:00. \n\n\n\nThe route will take us through Market Harborough and along the B6047 then onto the A46 to Nottingham. DESCRIPTION:Michael (Mick) Rowe – RIPSadly Mick Rowe\, a current member of Nene Valley Chapter\, passed away on the 23rd September 2021. He had only recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour.As a long time motorcyclist\, he expressed his wishes to be taken on his last ride in a Harley Davidson powered hearse and to be cremated wearing his Nene Valley Chapter patched waistcoat. He also requested\, if possible\, for a motorcyle escort to ride with him.The funeral cortege will leave his home in Stoke Mandeville\, Aylesbury at approx 10.30 on Friday 15th October.Mick’s family have extended an open invitation to any member of Nene Valley Chapter to attend to escort\, and join them afterwards for the wake.I will be attending.Should any other member wish to join me\, please contact me on membership@nenevalleyhog.co.uk or 07721062382\, and I will arrange a suitable place to meet in order to ride to the house.Steve Whatmore – Secretary

Disabled since early life\, and unable to speak\, he is the first stand-up comedian in Britain to use a communication aid in his routines\, performing them under the stage name of Lost Voice Guy. He began performing comedy in 2012 and had his first successful show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013. In 2014 he won the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards and by 2015 began to pursue a professional comedy career. Lee’s other credits include Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions\, America’s Got Talent: The Champions\, Live At The Apollo and The Royal Variety Performance. Lee has toured the UK\, selling out venues up and down the country\, with his show I’m Only In It For The Parking. Lee was named Ent24’s Hardest Working Comedian of the Year in 2019.  \n\n\n\nOpening the night will be Micky P Kerr who reached the final of Britain’s Got Talent in Series 12. He is a part-time primary school teacher who teaches in years 5 and 6\, and has lived in Leeds for the whole of his life. He described his act simply; ‘I just sing with a guitar and tell jokes’. \n\n\n\nSupport act is the entertaining Patrick Draper who has cemented his place on the UK comedy circuit with a mixed bag of deadpan jokes\, visual gags and songs. \n\n\n\nThe evening will be compered by the Mill’s resident MC\, Pete Teckman. \n\n\n\nOver 18s only.
