SUMMARY:Water and Steam Ride
DESCRIPTION:Departing from Jack’s Hill Cafe on Sunday 29th August.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy not come and join us for a ride over to Shropshire and Daniel’s Water Mill\, situated right underneath the Severn Valley Railway \n\n\n\nThe route in total will be just under 150 miles from Jacks to the last stop at Tamworth Services (A5/M42). Our route will be to Banbury and pick up M40 north. Coming off for Stratford we head for Worcester (on the A46 then A422)andstopattheShellservicesontheA4440NunneryWayNunneryPark\,WorcesterWR40SX. After \n\n\n\nrefreshments\, fuel and toilets\, we head towards Kidderminster and turn off going through Stourbridge on Severn. From here it’s on to Bewdley and then through the Wyre Forest taking a scenic route along the Severn Valley Railway route – arriving at our Destination – Daniel’s Mill just south of Bridgenorth WV16 5JL \n\n\n\nThe mill and Rosalie’s tea room are situated in a beautiful setting under a viaduct of the Severn Valley Railway. If we time it right we may get one or two steam trains go overhead. \n\n\n\nI have booked us in to the tea room for lunch – fairly simple – cream teas\, cakes\, sandwiches\, bacon rolls\, pork or ploughmans pie\, ice cream etc. \n\n\n\nI have also arranged a tour of the mill. It is a working mill but for our visit it may not be working as they have yet to fix some flood damage to the exterior walls. Cost will be about £4-5. \n\n\n\nYou can also walk up into the woods the other side of the viaduct. \n\n\n\nThe route back will via the A454 Bridgenorth to Wolverhampton – a nice open road – then following the signs for Cannock it’s the A460 until we meet the A5. I will stop at Tamworth services B77 5PS for fuel and comfort stop and effectively end the ride there as some may wish to return home down M42/M40 or continue down the A5. \n\n\n\nFinally\, this ride require decent weather – therefore if the forecast is poor for the day I will postpone. Keep an eye out on the chapter website\, facebook\, email. \n\n\n\nCheers Slow Hand Mobile: 07709 205571 Email : c.lapsley@ntlworld.com

SUMMARY:The not so independence day ride
DESCRIPTION:Departing from Jack’s Hill Cafe at 10am on Sunday 8th August. Mike Wakelin leading \n\n\n\nThe second attempt to dodge the weather and lead a successful ride to the OK diner in Leominster. Leaving Jacks Cafe at 9.30 we will do a bit of a relaxed route to arrive at the diner for about 12.00 for a bit of brunch. Again I will need food orders from those going. You don’t have to eat but because they get busy on Sunday\, those not dining will have to look longingly through the windows at thems that are. So if you do want to go AND eat\, let me know who you are and what you want to eat. You can find the generic diner menu at okdiners.com. Again\, this will be dependant on the weather and me being able to remember the way!

SUMMARY:Unity Ride Baton Collection
DESCRIPTION:Following Martin Dickinson’s articles in the last two Chapter magazines\, I would like to notify all Chapter members of our part in the Great Relay 21/Unity Ride event. The relay will arrive in the UK at the end of July with the Baton as well as the Pan America motorcycle being passed to all Chapters in the UK.We will be receiving the Baton from the Rutland Chapter on Saturday 7thAugust at the REDHOUSE pub\, Newport Pagnell at 3.30pm. It would be great to have as many Chapter members there as possible\, to greet the Rutland Chapter and show our support to this event. THIS IS NOT A RIDE OUT but a chance to get your bikes out on a Saturday afternoon/evening and greet and meet socially with the Rutland Chapter and share in this unique event. There will be a condensed menu available if you wish to eat\, and drinks\, including tea & coffee\, can be ordered from the bar.The whole event is raising money for Two Wheels For Life so there will be a stall where you can contribute by purchasing patches and stickers if you wish. I hope to see as many of you there as possible. I will be there from approx. 3.30 – 4.00pm Cheers\, Colin

SUMMARY:Steph & Mick's Wedding Escort Ride
DESCRIPTION:Departing from Jack’s Hill Cafe at 1pm on Thursday 5th August. Martin and Mikey leading\n\n\n\nMy daughter Steph gets married on Thursday 5th August and it would be great if the Chapter could provide her wedding car an escort from her house to the wedding venue. \n\n\n\nAfter having to cancel her wedding in Malta – due to have taken place last month – the new venue is Ashton Lodge – just north of Rugby. \n\n\n\nThe ride will escort two classic cars for the wedding party.   \n\n\n\nMartin and Mikey will lead the ride and escort. \n\n\n\nLeaving Jacks Hill Café at 1.00pm\, the ride to Steph’s house near Nuneaton will be a 50-55 min run up the A5.   Plenty of space to park up outside the house and once the wedding cars arrive\, the escort ride to Ashton Lodge will take about 25 mins.  It’s an easy route and initially through Nuneaton\, it opens up to the countryside to a lovely location near Monks Kirby\, \n\n\n\nOn arrival you are invited to stay while the ceremony takes place (approx 30 mins).   During this time the bar will be available to you for tea\, coffee or something stronger.  The drinks are on me. \n\n\n\nHopefully the day will be dry and warm.  The plan will be to arrange the bikes on the lawn in front of the patio – where Steph and Mick will walk out after the ceremony.   They would really like to in include you and the bikes in the photograph session that will follow the ceremony. \n\n\n\nOnce the photos are done Martin and Mikey will lead the ride back to the A5 for the return home.      \n\n\n\nAn event page will be opened up on the chapter face book page so please indicate your availability so we have an idea of numbers. \n\n\n\nSteph’s house :- post code CV10 0FH no 38 Duckpond Lane \n\n\n\nAshton Lodge : post code CV23 0PJ \n\n\n\n Cheers   Chris  Lapsley

SUMMARY:Seaside Ride
DESCRIPTION:Departing from Jack’s Hill Cafe at 09:30hs on Saturday 31st July. Simon leading.\n\n\n\nHi peeps\, \n\n\n\nMessage from SimonRide to Wells Next the Sea 24/07/21The weather forecast for this Saturday is for rain with the risk of thunderstorms and possible torrential rain. As a result\, this ride will not go ahead this weekend. The ride has been rescheduled for next Saturday 31st July.I hope you can join me on the revised dateSimon\n\n\n\nI will be leading a ride to Wells-Next-The-Sea on Saturday 24th July 2021. The ride will be leaving Jacks Hill Café at 09:30 so please be ready with a full tank and empty bladder as this is quite a long ride. \n\n\n\nThe route will take us along the A45\, A605\, A1139 then A47 to Kings Lynn\, from there we will take the A149 to Hunstanton\, then we will ride the scenic coast road to Wells-Next-The-Sea. This is approximately a 120-mile ride with a stop near Wisbech PE14 7BF for fuel and quick comfort break. \n\n\n\nParking has been arranged at the Wells Town Car Park on A1105\, and I have been told by the car park supervisor\, there will be no charge. Once there\, you are free to wander around the town or along the beach\, enjoy the scenery and have a spot of lunch. \n\n\n\nThe route back will be a reverse of the journey there\, again with a fuel stop and short comfort break at Wisbech. The ride will then finish at BP service station NN8 2DU.  \n\n\n\nAs stated\, this is a long day so we will be riding up to and at the speed limits for the roads we are on so we can make good progress to maximise the time we have. This ride is weather dependant as I’m sure you won’t want to wander along a beach in the rain.  \n\n\n\nSimon07961 027921
